Deirdre Morris
Clinical Counselor Intern, Practicing in Wyoming & Idaho
Deirdre is a clinical intern pursuing her master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling at Southwestern College in New Mexico. A longtime Teton Valley resident, she brings valuable experience from her career in art education, witnessing firsthand how relational connection and creative expression support healing. She works with individuals across the lifespan, guiding them to process challenging life events through both words and art. Trauma-informed and deeply committed to trust and safety, Deirdre creates spaces where people can express themselves fully and be leaders in their own healing.
Her approach is rooted in Polyvagal Theory, recognizing how the nervous system shapes our body-based experience of anxiety, depression, and grief. She applies the Expressive Therapies Continuum (ETC) to tailor art-based interventions that support sensory regulation, emotional expression, and cognitive integration. Through body-based awareness, creative expression, and active imagination, she collaborates with clients to uncover their innate healing potential.
Outside of sessions, Deirdre loves art-making and spending time in nature with friends and family.
