Matt Fisher
Clinical Counselor Intern, Practicing in Wyoming & Idaho
Matt is a clinical intern completing his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Southern New Hampshire University. Before beginning graduate school, Matt spent several decades serving others through public emergency services and as a member of the Army Reserve and National Guard. These years of service shaped his steady, grounded presence and deep respect for the resilience people carry through life’s most difficult moments.
Matt takes a person-centered approach to therapy, believing that healing begins in a space where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. He brings warmth, patience, and a wealth of lived experience to his work, helping clients reconnect with their own strength, clarity, and capacity for change. Matt works well with individuals navigating high levels of responsibility, stress, and life transitions, as well as those seeking support through more personal and vulnerable challenges. He is especially passionate about supporting survivors of trauma, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. His clinical interests also include anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress.
Matt grew up farming and ranching in Northern Utah and continues to value the perspective and resilience that comes from rural communities, while also appreciating the diverse paths people walk in their personal and professional lives. Outside of work, you might find him rafting a river, running trails with a golden retriever, or playing guitar.
