-
Teton Behavior Therapy offers family therapy services and welcomes opportunities to support families in strengthening communication, deepening connection, navigating challenges, and fostering healthier relationship patterns. Many of our clinicians have training in Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), a model that empowers caregivers and family members to play an active role in healing and growth.
When it comes to child therapy, TBT recognizes that children grow, heal, and thrive within the context of their daily environments and relationships. Because every child is part of a larger family system, we view caregivers as important partners in the therapeutic process. Depending on each family's needs and treatment goals, this may include family therapy, parent support sessions, caregiver consultations, or ongoing collaboration throughout treatment. Research consistently shows that when caregivers are actively engaged, children are more likely to experience meaningful, lasting growth that extends beyond the therapy room.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy clinicians can play a collaborative role in supporting children within school settings. This may include participating in school-based meetings such as 504 or IEP meetings, consulting with teachers and support staff to deepen understanding of a child’s strengths and needs, and engaging in collaborative problem-solving to identify supportive accommodations and interventions that help children thrive across environments. When appropriate, clinicians also support families in advocacy efforts to help ensure a child’s emotional and behavioral needs are understood and supported across environments.
Please note that some of these collaborative services, including school consultation and coordination, may not be covered by insurance and may involve a consultation fee. Families are encouraged to discuss this with their connected clinician or our Referral Team at the time of intake so we can provide clarity and ensure a strong fit for services.
Getting Started
-
At Teton Behavior Therapy we try to make getting started as simple as possible. Contact the Main Office by phone at (307) 734-6040 or email info@tetonbehaviortherapy.com and our team will guide you through the next steps. We will ask you for some demographic information, inquire about your location and availability, and touch base about what brought you to seek out services.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy knows that choosing the right therapist is an important step in your journey. Following your initial conversation, our Referral Team will provide a list of possible best-fit clinicians whose expertise aligns with your goals. Your input matters, so if you have a specific request or therapist in mind, we will try our best to accommodate.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy’s Referral Team is committed to connecting with you via email within 48 hours of initial inquiry. We will provide a list of compatible therapists for you to review. Once a clinician is chosen, it is the goal to schedule an intake session within one week.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy’s Referral Team will work closely with you via email to get an intake scheduled. After that, it’s between you and your therapist to choose dates, times, and frequency of sessions.
-
Before your first session, it is asked that you fill out intake paperwork through Therapy Portal. Having intake paperwork completed prior to your first session helps your clinician prepare for a focused and meaningful appointment from the start. It ensures that we have important background information in place so we can make the most of your time together and begin tailoring support right away.
However, if filling these documents out in-person is preferred, please arrive 15-minutes early to ensure adequate time for completion.
-
First visits look different for various client populations. Typically, expect to collaborate with your clinician around logistics and consent of services, a comprehensive assessment, and establishing a plan for ongoing care. This is a great time for you to ask any questions about the therapeutic process and/or your clinician, too!
For clients ages 17 and younger, caregiver participation in the intake process is required whenever possible. This allows your clinician to gain a more complete understanding of your child's strengths, challenges, daily environments, family history, and relationships. Our Referral Team can help determine whether your child should attend the intake session or whether a parent-only intake is the best place to start. Parent-only intakes are often recommended for younger children.
-
Therapy sessions are a dedicated 50 minutes of focused, on-on-one time with your clinician.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy suggests starting off on a weekly basis. Consistent sessions tend to accelerate establishing rapport, addressing symptoms, uncovering root causes of challenges, and building the awareness that supports long-term wellness. As therapy progresses, session frequency may shift based on clinical needs, treatment goals, and ongoing collaboration between you and your clinician.
-
If you decide that a therapist isn’t the best fit for you, that’s okay! Our team of clinicians want you to feel comfortable and engaged and know it’s not personal. Please reach out to our Referral Team at referrals@tetonbehaviortherapy.com if you would like to explore alternative options.
-
Yes. Teton Behavior Therapy sends email reminders 48 hours before a session and text messages 24 hours before as a courtesy. This preference can be set up with your clinician during the first session. Clients are still responsible for remembering their scheduled appointment time or canceling at least 24 hours in advance.
Cost & Payment
-
Teton Behavior Therapy is committed to ensuring that financial concerns do not prevent individuals and families from accessing the support and care they need. We work collaboratively with each client to explore options and make services as accessible as possible.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy utilizes a tiered, experience-based pricing model. Sessions can range from $150 to $300 depending on whether you are working with an master’s level intern, provisionally licensed therapist, fully licensed therapist, or a clinical director. Fees may also vary based on the location where services are provided.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy requires an active credit card to be kept on file for payment of services. We accept most major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express.
If you plan to use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), we are happy to attempt to save that card on file. However, due to limitations within our electronic health record (EHR) system, HSA and FSA cards are not always accepted. If this occurs, you can use another payment method and access receipts through your Therapy Portal account to submit for HSA or FSA reimbursement, if eligible.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy requires all clients to keep an active credit card on file, even if they plan to use insurance. After your insurance claim is processed, you may be responsible for costs such as copays, deductibles, coinsurance, or services not covered by your plan. Keeping a card on file also allows us to securely process any applicable late cancellation or no-show fees and helps streamline billing so you can focus on your care
-
If you are a direct pay or cash pay discount client, payment is due at the time of service. If we are submitting to health insurance, Teton Behavior Therapy’s Billing Team will process payments as they receive claim information back from your insurance providers. Please note, some insurance providers may take several weeks to process claims.
-
Yes. Teton Behavior Therapy accept payments from:

Teton Behavior Therapy kindly asks for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $150 cancellation fee. Clients utilizing Medicaid or working with one of our master’s level therapist interns will have a $25 cancellation fee.
-
Teton Behavior Therapy’s cancellation policy exists to ensure all clients have fair access to care. Last-minute cancellations and missed appointments limit our ability to care for other clients and affect the individualized preparation your therapist puts into sessions. This policy allows us to provide consistent, high-quality care for everyone.
-
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please email your clinician as soon as possible. Alternatively, contact the Main Office by phone at (307) 734-6040 or email info@tetonbehaviortherapy.com

Since each health insurance policy is different from the next, we encourage you to contact your insurance company to verify your mental health benefits before your first appointment. Your member services phone number and member ID can typically be found on the back of your insurance card. Ask your insurance representative to explain your mental health benefits and any costs you may be responsible for.
Billing codes we use include 90791 (intake session) and 90837 (standard therapy session) .
Helpful questions for you to ask the insurance representative:
Do I have to hit my deductible before my benefits kick it? If so, what is my deductible and how much remains until I reach this amount?
When does my deductible start over?
After my deductible has been met, will my sessions be covered at 100%?
Is there a copayment/coinsurance amount I will have to pay? If so, how much?
Are my benefits the same for in-person and Telehealth sessions?
If you would like clarity on any of these terms and how they impact coverage, please have your representative walk you through this.
